What’s the Big deal with a Tiny Wedding?

Elopements were once a popular trend of the past often times pertaining to only the couple and the officiant, the updated trend has seen quite a bit more popularity recently due to the global pandemic, ever-changing restrictions around large gatherings, safety, and budgetary constraints as well have helped make this a fad that is here to stay. All of these factors have caused micro weddings or larger elopements with up to 20 or fewer guests to be more in demand. Another trend we are loving is a micro ceremony and larger reception to follow at a later date when it is safer to host larger gatherings.

Fewer Guests = Fewer Expenses

While the current state of the world has forced us to host smaller gatherings currently we think smaller weddings are here to stay because they are typically 50-75% less expensive overall than a regular-sized 150+ person wedding. On average each guest costs anywhere from $75-150 per person when food, seating, and bar costs are considered. This means that fewer guests can really help you cut down on the cost of your wedding budget.

Small and Intimate:

With fewer guests to entertain the likelihood that you can actually spend time with each person there and the fact they are probably very close family and friends makes this the perfect way to keep the focus on you all and not on anything else. The intimate gathering is also perfect for bonding with those that are in your inner circle and making sure to thank each person and give them the most lavish expereice possible because your overall expenses will be significantly cut this can mean higher quality catering, extra over the top decor and even more upgraded bar or floral packages. This can also make for an overall better guest experience where everyone truly feels they are a significant part of your day.

Staying Safe:

With the smaller the guest count especially in today’s times there is less risk associated with people getting sick or spreading the virus due to it being easier to distance high risk individuals, more control over monitoring the crowd and less chance that the event will get canceled or that you will be forced to cut your guest count down dramatically. These are all factors that can really help take any extra stress off your plate and can speed up the wedding planning process. In the event your elopemnt does get canceled you are able to move things around much easier with 20 guests as opposed to 200 guests. That makes an elopment or “micro wedding” a little more appealing to many at this time.
